The Ferndale Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. The municipal court judge is authorized by Washington State statute to preside over the following types of cases: non-traffic infractions, traffic infractions, criminal misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors. The court schedules arraignments, pre-trial hearings, non-jury and jury trials, sentencing, reviews, etc. The court supervises related services including legal representation for indigent persons, probation, and interpreter services.
Municipal Courts Schedule
Mitigation Hearings are held on the 2nd Thursday of the month, beginning at 9:00 am
Contested Hearings are held on the 4th Friday of the month, beginning at 8:45 a.m.
In-custody Hearings at the Whatcom County Jail are held each Tuesday, beginning at 10:00 am
Arraignments, Warrant Quash Hearings, Pretrial Hearings, and Probation Hearings are held each Friday beginning at 9:00 am
(Court is normally not in session the 5th Friday of any month.)
